China Manned Space Agency released details about the flexible solar arrays of Wentian on Monday, the country's first lab module docked with its in-orbit space station.
Each of Wentian’s solar wingspan is around 27 meters. The wing spreads to about 110 square meters, able to generate an average of over 430-kilowatt hours of power per day, surpassing the estimated daily electricity consumption for three Taikonauts living and working in the space station.
Wentian lab module was launched on July 24th in south China's Hainan province. Mengtian lab module, the last part of China's Tiangong Space Station, will be launched on October 31, while the space station is planned to complete by the end of this year.
